On February 27th and 28th Paige McBride and Teytam McClellan participated in FCCLA Legislative Shadowing at our state capitol. Only 48 Juniors and Seniors across Missouri’s FCCLA chapters were chosen for this event. While at the capitol, they spent the day in the office of their designated legislator. They got a firsthand glimpse of how our state government operates daily. We viewed the house in session and toured the Supreme Court Building. This was a great opportunity for these young ladies. We would like to thank our administrators for allowing us to attend, and MO. House and Senate for allowing student to shadow.

Thank you everyone for working with us at the high school today. Thank you Josh Roberts for bringing us a tank of water to keep toilets flushed and Walmart for helping us with bottled water. I didn't check my phone as I spent most of the day pouring buckets of water in toilets as well as others but I seen and appreciate other individuals willing to help out. Our well pump went out this morning but Woolsey well service came in and worked hard all day to get things fixed for us this evening. All should be back to normal at LHS tomorrow! Thank you all again for your patience and understanding today.

This is Mr. Daniels at Liberty High School. I just want to inform all parents that our well pump has went out this morning so we are currently without water. We are in the process of getting a tank of water so we can keep the toilets flushed and I am heading to town to purchase bottles of water so the students will have something to drink. We will continue with school today while the pump is being replaced. If you have any questions you are welcome to call the school but we are doing everything to make sure your children are being taken care of. Thank you.

Due to extremely low temperatures and not knowing what the weather may bring we will NOT be having makeup hours at the high school tomorrow, Monday, January 15. If your student still owes makeup hours for the first semester, the last day to make them up will be extended to Monday, January 22. I hope everyone stays safe and warm over these next couple days. The BTE 1st graders are on fire! Mrs. Owens' 1st graders have made 100% on 100 iReady tests. (Yesterday, we posted about Mrs. Caldwell's 1st graders doing the same. You might not know this, but Mrs. Owens is Mrs. Caldwell's daughter. There is nothing wrong with a little mother/daughter competition!) Go, 1st Grade!

It was a successful English Tutoring Night at LHS! Students were able to get one-on-one help with assignments, papers, and ACT prep. They also had a quiet space to read books and get book suggestions from our librarian. Thanks to all the teachers who stayed and the students who took advantage of this opportunity!
