The girls are scheduled to play on Thursday vs Thayer at home, boys on Friday. We will see how much snow we get, then look at combining those games if we have to. We will send updates as information is available.

Due to the forecasted snowfall expected to begin around noon tomorrow, school will be closed. With the timing of the snow, we are concerned about safely getting students home if early dismissal becomes necessary.
Tomorrow is NOT an AMI Learn and Return Day—it’s an old-fashioned snow day! Enjoy the day off, stay safe, and have fun!

📣 Mrs. Moore’s Life Skills Class at LMS!🍕✨
Students had their first experience using an air fryer! They made and enjoyed Air Fryer Pizza Roll-Ups, giving them a big thumbs up! They’re already asking for more recipes to try.
If you have any simple and delicious air fryer recipes, send them way—we’d love to try them out!

Reminder that today's games in Salem will begin at 3 pm. JV girls, JV boys, varsity girls, varsity boys. Good luck players and coaches.

🏆 G.O.A.T. (Greatest of All Time) Award is Moving Through LMS!🏆Our last GOAT Holly Smith forwarded the honor to Kelli Smotherman!
She does more than anyone realizes—staying on top of our lunch bills, greeting everyone with a polite smile, and serving as the first impression of LMS when people walk through our doors. She also keeps the athletic department on track and is always approachable no matter what is thrown her way.
Kelli has earned her GOAT status not just because of her hard work but because she’s been here longer than most—and LMS wouldn’t be the same without her. We appreciate her “keepin’ it real” approach to life. Her infectious laughter is contagious but don’t be fooled by her kindness; she has the heart of a warrior.
🐐 Thank you, Kelli, for all you do.

Boys are at Houston tonight, girls are at Viburnum tomorrow to play Cuba. next week we have already moved the Salem games to everyone playing Monday. Be on the lookout for updates as we watch the weather.

Mrs. Smith has been chosen as the LHS GOAT for this week. Mrs. Smith teaches 11-12th Special Education as well as Coaches High School Girls' Basketball. Mrs. Smith always comes to work with a positive mindset and a smile on her face, ready to love and teach her students and team. We are very blessed to have her as a teacher at LHS.

A few of our bus drivers were greeted with thoughtful gifts from students on Valentine's Day this morning! Their smiles in the picture say it all! Thank you, students, for making their day! 🦅

This week, our 8th-grade scientists explored changes in state using a freeze dryer! A freeze dryer removes moisture through sublimation, where a substance transitions directly from a solid to a gas, skipping the liquid phase.
To make the lesson even sweeter, students got to test out different types of freeze-dried candy—a fun and tasty way to see science in action! #TheLMSWay

A four-win day for the Liberty Eagles yesterday in the Legends Shootout. The girls win two games, the JV and varsity boys both with wins. Great job players and coaches. A big thank you to Champ s Fitness, Tune, Logging, Alton Bank, (Parts City) Mountain View Auto Parts, and the Anchor. We appreciate the donations for helping run the shootout.

Our 6th graders wrapped up their Ancient China unit with a hands-on project—Panda Calligraphy! They had the opportunity to learn and practice writing their names in Chinese, which was easier said than done! However, their hard work paid off, and the results were absolutely wonderful.
Great job, 6th grade! #TheLMSWay
