History of the Liberty Eagles!

Did you know our communities consolidated two high schools back in 1971? To honor the rich traditions of both the Bulldogs and the Pirates, we are creating a special display at Liberty High School!

Many of the photos and memorabilia from the old schools have been kept in our elementary buildings, but they haven’t been easily accessible to the public. Now, we’re bringing them together at LHS so they can be enjoyed by past, present, and future Liberty Eagles and their families. Students will also have the chance to see their relatives and learn more about our district’s history.

We are adding a new trophy case at LHS to display memorabilia from the Bulldogs and Pirates, and a digital kiosk will feature the graduation photos that have been hanging in our elementary buildings—preserving them for generations to come.

We have been working on this for a few weeks and can't wait to share more updates as it unfolds.

Big things are happening at the school farm! FFA students are working hard to update and repair current facilities in preparation for the upcoming show season. The goal is to host the First Annual “Old Highway 60 Showdown” Livestock Fair in May 2025! A huge THANK YOU to Brown’s Farm & Garden for donating the use of their Bobcat today! Their generosity is helping students transition the old hog barn into a new sheep and goat barn, and they couldn’t do it without their support. This event will bring together FFA and 4-H chapters from across the area for a day of showing, learning, and celebrating agriculture. Stay tuned for updates as FFA continues to build and improve — they can’t wait to share this exciting event with you all!

We’re excited to share that our FFA students received the National FFA Living to Serve Grant again this year! Thanks to this support, the FFA students will give away free eggs this school year. They will even be able to share locally processed meat from their roosters once they have finished growing. Today, our ag students got to spend time with their new chicks—a fun hands-on experience! A big thank you to National FFA and our local supporters who help make opportunities like this possible for our students.

Today at Liberty High School, our students had the opportunity to experience the Missouri Drive Alive program! The program brought their driving simulator, allowing students to see firsthand the dangers of driving while impaired or distracted. By practicing in a safe environment, students were able to understand how quickly choices behind the wheel can impact their safety and the safety of others. The Drive Alive Tour is designed to raise awareness and encourage students to make safe, responsible decisions when it comes to driving. We are grateful to have had this program at Liberty High today and for the powerful lessons it provided our students. We want to thank our Traction Team and Mr. Daniels for their role in bringing the tour to LHS!

The first two weeks of school at Birch Tree Elementary have been full of energy and excitement! This morning, our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Shockley, was out on the sidewalk greeting students with high fives and smiles while music played to kick off the day. What a great way to start the morning!

We are grateful for the partnership with Life360 Birch Tree, who provides afternoon snacks for our elementary students each day. Under the leadership of Brandon Tate, the Life360 team delivers totes to our elementary buildings every afternoon. Each student receives a bag of snacks/food to eat before leaving school, helping to ensure that no child goes home hungry.

This free service has been a true blessing to our students and families, and we sincerely thank Life360 for their commitment to our communities.

Today at Mountain View Elementary, an ambulance was called to help a student who experienced a seizure. This student is prone to seizures, and thanks to our staff’s quick response, the student received the care they needed right away. We are so thankful for our local Fire Chief and ambulance team for taking such good care of our students. Their fast response and kindness mean so much to us and our school family.
