We are proud to recognize Mrs. Beth Ann Davis, LMS school counselor, as Teacher of the Month (January)!
Read what her co-workers say about her. "Mrs. Davis is a constant reminder that we are all created for a purpose. She is kind, compassionate, and always respectful, offering unwavering support to both students and staff. Whether she’s guiding students through challenges, helping teachers lighten their load, or simply being a listening ear, she is truly the heart of LMS.
The Beth Effect should be a thing! The behind-the-scenes work she does is the grease that keeps LMS moving in the right direction. She is like a black hole—you can go to her with any concern, and she will help you find a solution. Her love for students is second to none, and she is the best counselor we’ve ever had—hands down.
Mrs. Davis goes above and beyond daily, ensuring that everyone in our school feels seen, heard, and supported. She fosters a safe, welcoming environment and brings a positive attitude to everything she does. LMS is stronger because of Mrs. Davis. Her ability to connect, provide guidance, and create a sense of belonging makes all the difference.
Thank you, Mrs. Davis, for being a true champion for our students and staff

We’re a little late in posting due to snow days, but we couldn't let this month pass without recognizing Jaris Acklin as our Support Staff Member of the Month (January)! Jaris is a Special Education paraprofessional at Mountain View Elementary. We are excited to announce that he will be moving into a Special Education teaching position for the 2025-2026 school year.
Read some of the things his coworkers say about him! "Jaris is nothing short of amazing. His flexibility, willingness to help wherever needed, and genuine care for our students make him an invaluable part of MVE. When he walks into a room, he finds a way to connect—whether it’s assisting with work, sharing a conversation, or offering a high five or fist bump. His kindness and uplifting words brighten the day for students and staff alike.
Jaris goes above and beyond daily, building respectful relationships and motivating students with his positivity and dedication. His big smile, great attitude, and passion for helping others truly set him apart."
We are so grateful to have Jaris at MVBT!

🎉🐐 G.O.A.T. Alert! 🐐🎉
Congratulations to Mr. Guffey, the latest recipient of the LMS G.O.A.T. Award, passed on by Kelli Smotherman!
Mr. Guffey is drama-free, respectful, patient, a team player, and a role model for all of our students. His positive attitude shines throughout the day, and he goes above and beyond—especially when working hard at the crosswalk to keep everyone safe.
Thank you, Mr. Guffey, for being an essential part of #TheLMSWay! We’re lucky to have you! 💙❤️

As we plan for the 2025-2026 school year, we are making leadership changes to ensure that ALL of our students receive the best possible experience. Our goal is to provide students at both Birch Tree and Mountain View Elementary with the same opportunities—academically and through extracurricular activities.
By strengthening leadership alignment between our two elementary buildings, we can ensure that students have consistent expectations and a strong foundation as they move into middle and high school. This also allows our elementary staff to collaborate, support one another, and share best practices so that every student benefits.
You will find Mrs. Jester to be a leader who is passionate about education and deeply loves all MVBT staff, students, and parents. She will be spending her time in both elementary buildings, with the leadership support of two assistant principals.
These changes are rooted in what is best for kids. We appreciate your support as we work to create the best possible learning environment for every child in our district.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Tharp, Superintendent, if you have any questions during the process.

❄️🍨 6th Grade Math + Snow Ice Cream = A Sweet AMI Day! 🍨❄️
Our 6th graders turned their AMI day into a delicious math adventure! They applied their skills in solving expressions to calculate the perfect amount of ingredients needed to make snow ice cream. Learning + a tasty treat = math magic!
Way to go, 6th grade—you’re making math (and snow days) even sweeter! #TheLMSWay

District basketball starts tomorrow night. The boys are in Houston at 7:30, this district is cash only. The girls district is in Cabool, the Liberty girls do not play until Thursday night. This site is digital tickets only. At LHS, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday is a Class 1 district and it is cash only. Some confusion out there, but each district has the option to do cash or digital. Good luck to all of our teams and coaches.
