What an amazing Professional Development Day at Liberty Middle School! Our dedicated teachers gathered to brainstorm ideas on how to make our school the absolute best place for our students. 🧠 With creativity flowing, they worked through stations, engaging in collaborative activities and discussions to elevate our educational environment. 🤝✨ To top it off, there was a bit of gift-giving to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our incredible team, followed by a delicious lunch to refuel for the afternoon ahead. 🥪 We're so proud of our Liberty Middle School teachers for their commitment to continuous improvement and making our school the best it can be!

Our January Teacher of the Month is Mrs. Autumn Millard, 3rd grade teacher at Birch Tree Elementary!! She was selected by her peers as an exemplary teacher. Below are a list of things her peers said about her! Autumn is always willing to help! She checks in on teachers throughout the building; not just her grade level team. She believes in the power of "yet" and instills that belief in her students. The students love her and remember the life lessons she has taught them. I hear confirmation of this everyday from my students. Ex: "I'm not good at this yet but I know I just need to practice more." "Mrs. Millard told us to never stop challenging ourselves." "Mrs. Millard told us it is okay to ask for help." This list goes on and on. Mrs. Millard has such enthusiasm for her class and teaching that it makes her students work extra hard for her and engage in the content being taught. I am nominating Autumn Millard to be October's Teacher Of The Month because she is always helpful and kind to students, faculty, and staff. She believes that we are all a team and helps everyone no matter if they are her students or if they are in her grade level. She loves her students! She works very hard on extracurricular activities, like coaching sports teams and the BTE Talent Show, for them and all other students to be involved in. Autumn really cares about the kids in this district, she is awesome! Autumn is an enthusiastic teacher who interacts with her students on a personal yet learning level. I have personally sat in on several lessons in her classroom where I witnessed all students being engaged and her giving special attention to those in need. Proud to have her at BTE! She is always kind and engaging with students and workers. Mrs. Millard no doubt loves her job and her students. Her students cannot wait to see what fun learning activities she has planned for the day. Her class is always engaged in their lessons. She not only worries about her students but all students at BTE. If there is a special event going on at BTE you can rest assured Autumn will be right there to offer her help. BTE is lucky to have her. Congratulations to Mrs. Millard! We are proud of you!!

10th and 11th grade students, have you considered attending VoTech for 24-25 school year? Southern Missouri Technical Institute (formerly known as South Central Career Center) in West Plains offers a variety of skill trade programs. Ms. Watts visited with sophomore classes and shared the following information. Those students who are currently in 10th or 11th grade and who are interested in attending Southern Missouri Technical Institute next year are invited to tour their facilities, and learn more about each program. We will be taking a tour during the school day for those interested on Feb. 28th. If students are interested in attending please complete the Google form shared in the student's English Google classroom or see Ms. Watts.
