We're thrilled to announce that our district applied for and is one of 125 districts awarded the $10,000 Grow Your Own Grant from DESE! This grant will support our efforts to recruit and cultivate future educators right here in our community.
A big thank you to Mrs. Field for her dedication and leadership in making this possible. Her commitment to our Grow Your Own program is helping us build a stronger future by investing in our own!
We’re inviting all parents and community members to take part in our Climate and Culture Survey! Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to grow and improve, aiming to make Mountain View-Birch Tree R-III a place where every student feels safe, welcomed, and loved. While we may not be perfect, we’re committed to creating a supportive, positive environment for all our students, staff, and families.

🔍 Liberty Middle School Mystery in Mrs. Tipton’s ELA Class!
Seventh graders in Mrs. Tipton’s ELA class put their detective skills to the test! Using evidence and observations, they gathered clues to solve the “kidnapping” of our principal, Mrs. Heiney. With five suspects on the list, each student worked to make inferences to crack the case and identify who took our principal.
This hands-on experience helped students sharpen their critical thinking, teamwork, and inference skills. Great job, seventh graders – our Liberty Eagles are true detectives! 🦅
We’re thrilled to share that our Parents as Teachers Program just held its second group connection for this school year, with 48 people attending! A huge thank you to Dr. Travis Shearer from Southern Missouri Community Health Center and his Administrative Assistant, Wilma Thompson, for generously providing toothbrush kits for the children. They even donated enough kits for our preschool, ECSE classes, and all of the children in Parents as Teachers!
Special thanks also go out to Main Street Grocery in Birch Tree, Deanna Martin, and Jim Smotherman for contributing a fantastic selection of candy and cookies for everyone to enjoy. And a big round of applause for Terri Orchard, Jessin Adams, Krista Nicholson, Trina Fraiser, Patricia Wilhelm, and the LHS Ag Education students for all of their support and hard work to make this event a success!
Reach out to Mrs. Lora Adams, PAT Supervisor, with any questions you have about the Parents as Teachers Program at MVBT!
MVBT Parents,
Your child’s journey to success starts with showing up, and we’re here to support that every step of the way! Thank you for all you do to make school a priority! Together, we’re making sure each student at MVBT is ready to learn, grow, and succeed. We’re so grateful for your partnership in this journey.
Overall, our attendance during 1st Quarter was in the borderline range. Take a look at the chart and see where your child falls.
(While we strongly encourage regular attendance, we also understand that sometimes missing a day is necessary due to illness or family needs.)
Game in Miller will be at 6:30 on Thursday night. If the Eagles win they will play here on Saturday time TBD. The sectional round will be digital ticketing $10.00 for 6 and over.
📐💃 Math in Motion with Mrs. Wilbank’s 8th Grade Class! 🎯🦅
Mrs. Wilbank’s students took their understanding of angle relationships to the dance floor with a fun and educational game called Dance Dance Transversal! 🎶 Students had to accurately position their feet to reflect the angle relationships shown in the video, combining math skills with movement.
Learning is always more fun when you get to move, groove, and think on your feet! 🕺📏
LHS volleyball will play Miller in the Class 2 Sectional at Miller at 6pm Thursday night. More information on this to come.
School will not be in session on Wednesday.
